How to Get Hired

June 1, 2021

Getting hired isn't just about applying — it's about being seen. Here's what worked for me.

Make yourself visible

  1. Have a professional looking profile picture.
  2. Networking is key — the bigger your network, the better. But connect with people who can actually help you.
  3. Follow recruiters so you know quickly when they post about job openings.
  4. Use sites like referplease.com to find recruiters who are hiring, and connect or DM them.

Reach out directly

  1. Write emails to recruiters highlighting your strengths and why you're a good fit for the JD.
  2. Recruiters see hundreds of CVs per day — yours needs to stand out fast. Referrals are the traditional way to skip the queue.
  3. Connect with recruiters on LinkedIn or find their email and cold email them.

Keep showing up

  1. Consistently post about your projects and achievements on LinkedIn. More engagement = more reach.

Most people stop at applying. The ones who network and follow up are the ones who get hired.
